Saint Laurent Sur Mer,Exit E1 - Wn65 - Vallee du Ruquet.German pillbox on Omaha Beach serving as a U.S. Army command post, during the early days of the invasion.Enjoy!
I was just going to post those DavidW. Looks like you beat me to it.
Photo’s compliments of FTG.American infantry moving thru the village of Immendorf near Geilenkirchen/Germany, WW2 image from November 1944.
Excellent as always rudeerude.
Stunningly done as always, Redeerude.
Many Thanks for these.
The Panther made me pause a bit, and check again. I think it is an Ausf G1.
The look of weariness in the men’s eyes is one that seems familiar in some ways: it can still be seen in the eyes of a Veteran these days.
Kind and Respectful Regards Rudeerude, Uyraell.
The Poteau ambush site of the 14th Cav.66 years and the shed still stands, although with all the growth you can barley see it.I have found some good now pictures of the area I think I might get 2 to 3 more photos coming soon.Enjoy…
And the shed close up
Well done, rudeerude. I’ve been there last year and I have to admit I was too lazy to walk the app. 100 yards from the road to the shed.
I love these now and then treads. One of the things I always try to get when im on vacation. Always fun to look at even if you arent that familiar with the area.
THAT is one mighty FINE set, Rudeerude!.
Warm Congratulations my friend: exceptionally Well Done!.
Kind and Respectful Regards, Uyraell.
@rudeerude: I like the Quality of both images. I really like to view these photos. Nice work there Sergeant! Cheers.
Absolutely Brilliant.
A young guy like you FTG “lazy” lol
And another Poteau famous photo.I don’t know if the sunny sky really captures the moment, but otherwise I like it.Enjoy
How do you know that that is the road? I mean I could’ve taken that picture just outside here.
Just saying…
I think my source is reliable.(all of my Battle of the Bulge pictures are from a person I have communicated with)With the aid of the shed as a still standing landmark and the aid of this map
http://www.museum-poteau44.be/ it would be easy to for someone with access to find the particular spots.
You may have questionmarks regarding the sky Rudeerude, but, by the gods, you capture the moment with eerie clarity.
The fusion-result is both eerie, and strangely poignant: Evocative, is the word I feel the need to employ as a fitting descriptor.
Mighty fine work Rudeerude,
Kind and Respectful Regards my friend, Uyraell.
Why THANK YOU, Uyraell for the comment .I am glad you enjoy my work and effort.
