Panzerknacker`s gallery.

I’d say this is probably a GDR (DDR) relic they keep for remembrance reasons…

These beach-chairs (“Strandkörbe”) are quite common and popular on the German north- and eastcoast as well.

I stayed in Sassnitz (largest harbour there), where most of the pics were taken. Yep, there are a lot of old abandoned buildings from the former GDR and even older ones (many of the hotels were built about 1900), but I really like this kind of places. About 20% of the city there look like this house, but there are also a lot of new and glamorous hotels, especially in the cities in the south east of this island. One problem: The money to restore all these places …

As you can see, I lived quite well there …

And some pics from a car show in Hannover …

Part II ( i had to include myself, of course)

Great work my friend, nice mountains.(were you looking for hidden vineyards?) Here are some of the nearby Smokey mountains. (there are stills, but no vineyards,)

Good photos TankG, that looks like a serius location to hunt, or just relax, or perhaps relax while hunting.

Please remember me in wich state do you live, you said before but I forget.

Very nice scenery PK, I especially like the stream with the small waterfall. Pretty much all the streams have dried up here, we’ve been in a drought since early '08. The terrain reminds me a lot of our terrain here in Texas “Hill Country”. Except obviously you have mountains in the background, and we only have hills.

@TG: Very nice scenery as well. I miss the lush green trees and such. Everything here in Texas is turning dry and brown. Has been a bad lack of rain since last year. Must be great area for motorcycle touring, huh?

I live in Tennessee, near the Smokey mountains in Knoxville. I imagine that there are lots of good hunting prospects there, although some of the beasts there would be hunting you. (and then there are the hillbilly women)

Navyson: We have had a great deal of rain this year, thundering right now, probably getting rain Texas would otherwise get. The riding is great here, it doesnt seem to matter in which direction one goes, always something interesting to see along the way.Lots of twisties, and ups&downs to keep you happy. The infamous “Dragon’s Tail” is not far from here. there are clips on you tube about it… I havnt been there tho,

Well, small world I guess. I have some relatives that moved to Brentwood, Tennessee up by Nashville last fall. Looking forward to visiting them and checking out the state. I think the Shiloh Civil War battlefield isn’t too far from Nashville, interested in going to see it too. Seeing your pics makes me want to head further east and see the mountain ranges.

You will like the Smokey Mountains, old mountains, lots of green, and not too high Just get on I-40, and go East till your ears pop. Sevierville, and Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg offer touristy types of diversion, food, and lodging, but the traffic is insane on the weekends.
Shiloh Battlefield is Between Memphis, and Nashville, near to the lower border, but easy to get to. straight South of Chattanooga just into Georgia is Chicamauga battlefield. There are many battle sites spread around Tennessee, most of the smaller ones have been built over, and are just place names, or have a marker telling the story.
The pics are of the area that was once Ft. Sanders, the site of a major fight, located just West of downtown Knoxville, no trace of the Fort remains. There are a couple of markers, and the site is presently occupied by the University of Tennessee medical school.

You re welcome, actually in here the landscape is more or less the same ( the winter is always dry, this year in particular) but of course there is always some green next to water.

Interesting, despite being a southern state it have quite a “northern like” landscape.

This is the Rio Suquia, running just 5 blocks away from home. In the picture is hideen by the trees but there is a quite nice supermarket ( a lot of wine brands there) in left bank.

That is a nice lazy river, good for fishing, or enjoying the good wine from the supermarket with a lady friend… Some of the rivers here look like this, I’ll have to get some pics. The Hills in your area look like the ones I’ve seen in Northern Arizona, lots of scrub brush, and juniper trees.

The trees are mostly eucalyptus, sycomorus and other exotics, not like the earlier pictures wich are native forest.
Sadly no fishing skills on me, unless you can fish with a shotgun

No reason you couldnt, but, a little wine tasting with a honey might be more interesting…
