Which makes the product title somewhat self-contradictory.
FTG, best of luck and hope you get everything in order…
Thanks folks, much appreciated. Now the burial is done much pressure is off our backs.
Out of the country (and out of contact) until this time next week - in Lourdes with HCPT.
What is HCPT?
Ummm… beyond the first answer on google? See http://www.hcpt.org.uk/ for full details, but basically it takes handicapped kids on what is sort of a pilgrimage to the Marian shrine at Lourdes in France for a week at Easter. I say sort of because not only is it very different from just about any other pilgrimage I’ve heard of, but many of the kids are sufficiently disabled that they’re only aware of the religious bits as going into a big building where everyone is singing and dancing along. It’s been going since 1956 and now takes about 1500 to 2000 children a year.
It’s a commendable undertaking and a credit to you that you’re involved in it.
You get a lot out of it, but at the same time it also takes a hell of a lot out of you - I’ve slept about 12 hours so far today, and am still knackered.
Starting Tuesday, I start a big boy sales job for a major industrial equipment manufacturer. I’m going to be in Albany, NY for training, then probably onto the bountiful heartland of America: Iowa. I suspect I’ll have time to be online at night. But who knows?
And I’m not sure they even have internet in Iowa.
What’s an Iowa?
A place with lots of bored, corn-fed farm girls!
I trust you will relieve their boredom.
Well, I’m hoping they’ll relieve mine at least.
Away for 3 weeks - getting married this time next week!
Congratulations on your nuptials. I guess it took an American girl from New Jersey/New York area to ensnare an Englishman…
They’re going to have too, apparently I’m in a “dry county” (alcohol free) of very old school Dutch lineage…maybe I should just bring lots of Heineken?
Congratulations.
May you and your lady be happy with each other for the rest of your lives.
Despite my occasional smartarse comments about the alleged state of my marriage, the truth is that I have been blessed with a woman of uncommon tolerance of (or, more probably, lack of interest in) my interests and activities.
If you’re half as blessed, you’ll be a happy man.
Just make sure you have a big shed with a big refrigerator in it. You’ll be even happier down there.
I was in drive-through pub tonight where they had boxes of imported Becks beer past its ‘use by’ date for $35.
I bought the equivalent quantity of Australian beer within its ‘use by’ date for about $35.
If you want to pay the shipping, I think I can get you a pallet of Becks at a bit below $35 a box.
People in a dry county probably wouldn’t know the difference.
Take your time on this. It’s not like the out of date Becks is being rushed.
