So what do we do about Chevan then?
Nothing at the moment…sometimes he is really good other times he is annoying. Although I wasnt wild about his thread PK closed … I feel FF is right in the fact its not totally crazy or outside the realm of the forum. However I dont want it open right now. Or by him. If another member wants to bring it up and do the calculations then ill think about it. Chevan has a big problem with his mouth, english and nature for blowing things out of proportion. Yet if we punished everyone that did that then we would have to kick alot of members and it would be a boring site. Plus I wouldnt need mods.
BTW PK could you keep us informed on some of your actions…no offense but it hard to answer ppl on issues like … where the hell did my thread go…if i dont know WTF they are talking and WTF you did. Just trying to show the importance of staff communcation!
Very strange! I read that thread in the morning (well, my morning…).
Guys, do not delete threads unless there are spammed.
Otherwise move them to admin archive! And that’s an order!

No really much I moved a topic of cutaway and send him a PM, I send PMs to everybody whoever I move a post.
What is the problem now?
Right, i already read the Egorka post…well no idea, FW perhaps.?
3020 Panzerknacker 17:53, 1st May 2007 Thread Removed Thread: [Sex and propaganda]
Forum: [WWII Websites] 200.127.19.14
From the Mod log! Forgot about searching there for a moment.
PK you did it…you either forgot about it or someone has your password…you need to figure this out like yesterday!!!
By looking at it you must have forgot you deleted the Sex and propaganda thread coz the ip is all Argentina and a another post in F&m that is all yours is the same IP.
Just like to mention one more thing…we have been on a steady rise in user activity since at least sept of last year. April has been our busiest month ever. If i had to guess during the last month we had at least 55 members visit the site daily. More ppl more problems … keep your eyes peeled.
OK. What we have to do with Egorka’s question?
Cover up blaming it on a software glitch?
Why cover up. The best explanation is that it was accidentally deleted when trying to move it. Everyone who is human makes mistakes after all.
Well, after all it would be a long time of reaction for the explanation proposed.
I’d say a software glitch or something.
After all, PK, what was your reason for deleting it?
Sorry but I dont remember delete that topic and I have not amnesia.
Weird.
You made 500 posts from the same IP (that is 200.127.19.14 provided by GS).
So that means that nobody else have your password but someone close to you. I remember when Erwin posted once some strange things. Later he said that the questionable posts had been posted by his brother without his knowledge. Maybe some thing happened now.
On the other hand I want to ask GS which are the permissions of the mods. So far I know that a mod is only allowed to soft delete post(s). I don’t know anything about the threads. GS, could you revise the permissions?
Sorry guys, but I think we must investigate seriously what happened so that next time (if any) should be only a human error like FF said.
If it’s a software error (which I think it is) it would be useful to inform ww2admin (like in PM related e-mails case last week).
Well PK do you have anybody that would use your password? I would find it rather dumb for someone to steal it … just to log on and delete a pretty random thread. Not saying your lying but somebody did it and they did it under your account. Might be a good idea to change your password now! You didnt by chance click and log into that email PM I warned ppl about did you? PK if you want to double check your status look at the board without being logged in. Check your profile and it will state the time when your last activity was. If you werent online you know we got a problem.
I used to play with the mod log quite a bit but havent in along time. Hence why I forgot about it at first. Kinda felt dumb on that one. Anyhoo…ive never noticed it to be wrong but I will look at it more closely now.
Unless im mistaken mods should be able to phyically remove any thread. This is what I wanted due to spammers. For awhile you guys were just moving them to the a&m archive room. I figured best to delete them since they serve no purpose. If problems persist then ill have to revise permissions. It not a big deal to change it so all deletes are soft. I can always clean them up later.
Seriously we all need to be on our toes…site activity is going up and someone has already attempted to phish the site from what I saw. Could be an old member we pissed off. Dont know…could be kids. Whatever take the time to check your info.
I will follow your recomendations, but know I am not sure.
Yes my PC is used by a lot of people (brother, sister, etc) and sometimes I wrote from cibercafes But I dont see much connection with this.
Unless im mistaken mods should be able to phyically remove any thread.
I am able to do that except in the Off-topic section.
Anyone else having this problem or just PK?
Sorry the permissions can be alot to look over. I make mistakes all the time. Ill try and fix this.
No problems here.
It could be only me but the Forum is too slow this afternoon and I cannot visualize the last messages properly.
Same problem here started almost an hour ago.
