Spam and spammer:

and here http://www.ww2incolor.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5949

Both banned. IPs are 75.125.114.164 and 70.86.131.58.

Thanks for IPs. Also this one should be a wired one since my PC is turned on the Western European encoding: http://www.ww2incolor.com/forum/showthread.php?p=116898#post116898

That guy was on 213.115.183.11.
Looks like they’re probably using random PCs hijacked with a spambot virus - that one was in Sweden…

The spam/troll factor is high in this one: awalpeque

The IP Address is: 66.65.47.104. The host name is: cpe-66-65-47-104.nyc.res.rr.com.

I sent a warning PM regarding his dumb thread start in the “Off-Topic Militaria” forum…

Two more banned - 89.0.184.153 and 85.258.12.182

And another at 81.110.115.49

Hmmm seems the SPam factor is rising again. Any ideas why, or is it that the Spammers are just growing?

Another at 70.84.197.162.

I think it’s a spam virus doing the rounds at the moment targeting forums - the IPs are all over the world and those with a meaningful DNS lookup attached look like private or maybe university ISPs. Those are the very ones most likely to be infected with such a virus.

It probably also has to do with our increase of traffic making us a bigger target than we have been before…

AH well, keep up the goodwork then.

Another one at 71.84.210.177

It’s been interesting reading these threads, but should a member have access to this forum…

He should not be posting in here anymore!

A new user group was added

Just curious…how were non-staff members able to access this area? I seem to recall that it happened about a year ago.

Is there something that we need to watch out for? From the looks of it, more than one member viewed this area.

ww2admin added a new usergroup and it changed the forum permissions. Not much you guys can do besides tell me. Easy mistake.

Thanks for the clarification General.

Not a problem anyway.

OK, I sent PK a fairly nice informal warning PM earlier today and what I got back was this.

Man, If you are a mod, you better start to act like one.

Sorry you are disapointed but my stile is one without compromising, we could be in good terms one day and the other no if I see something I dont like.

I am disapointed with performance as Chief Mod so I suppose we are even.

I would ask all of the Mods to keep an eye on him. Ive told him to give it up, next time I want him warned, although I dont want him singled out. I was toying with dealing with him as he dealt with others, but that would be hypocritical. Valuable as he is, he is not invaluable.

What exactly is his specific complaint? This site’s traffic is busier than it has ever been, and discussion is going on at a much higher rate than it ever has. Exactly what is the supposed problem with the forum?

In fact PK seems to be involved in about 50% of whatever sustained conflict goes on around here. He seems almost to be advocating his own banning since he’s the only only one getting away with blatant trolling…
