Were uniforms of those kia recycled or used to bury the soldier? Also, and more likely, the canteens and belts, were they laundered and recycled? [EDIT: for spelling]
Depending on current circumstances, they might be buried in their clothes as is, or if mortuary services were available in the rear areas, they might be buried in something else, in which case their uniforms would probably be incinerated. Field gear, weapons, and other equipment if serviceable, would be sent for reclamation, and reissue.
