Some photos of my tours...

Some now & then (October 1944) photos from the small town I live:

More to follow - if I’m able to manage the identification of the locations which is not too easy with some photos.

Then and now…

Thanx…that gives a different perspective.

Nicely done, rudeerude.

It’s look just great.
Now the first ww2 photo can be easy colorised coz i suppose the texture style and color of buildings and road hardly had changed since the war.

FTG ,I would like to post these in the photo section. Can you help me out with more info, and location. Thanks…

I sent you a PM.

Very nice! Keep it up! Does the main square look the same, or is it modernized by now. A lot of the small towns around our area have really nice town squares that are still “rustic”.

That turned out wonderfully rudeerude! Thanks for the post!

Thanks guys for the kind comments.

Rudeerude, if you could do more of these pictures that would be great.

These were actually regular streets back in the 40’s.
Fortunately they modernized it, these cobblestone roads kill your shock absorbers…

They didn’t have shock absorbers in the 1930’s-40’s.

No, they did…Imy neighbour use to own a 1932 Packard Sedan and it was built with Hydraulic shock absorbers.

The main road of Kesternich, a village in the Eifel mountains, at the edge of Hurtgenforest: two abandoned German ‘Hetzer’ tank destroyers and passing G.I.'s (most probably of 2nd battalion/311th US infantry of 78th Infantry Division), early February 1945.

They should have left the Jagdpanzers. They make such nice lawn ornaments…

An amazing remodel job on the house on the right.

Looks like workable"Then and Now" to do…

Well this one was a tough one to do,enjoy…

Excellent work rudeerude.
