I don’t see our IP on here. but some boards do post them. is that what you mean???
An Admin or Mod can look up large parts (though I don’t think everything) of your IP Adress - It just isn’t visible for anybody, as that would pretty much invite Hackers!
That way, they can perma-ban pretty much anyone they like, and it doesn’t matter how many accounts they use, they will all be banned…
PS: Nice Sig. What’s the name of that ship?
There are ways around this for the determined troll. And IPs can be a little overrated as there are cases where you might share a static IP with about fifty other households, and providers can be sued for giving out personal information. But then, they take a lot of time and know how to consistently get around IP bans --pretty much putting that person in one of two basic categories:
a.) A buffoon wasting their time and owning oneself because they have nothing to do but spend a lot of time spamming message boards they feel have slighted them and that they’re not welcome on
b.) A truly psychotic, but rare, f—wit and intentionally dangerous person that will go to great lengths and personal investments of time, money, and be willing to inevitably alienate anyone close to them to go beyond the interweb and actually try to hurt people in real life. There was a notorious metal-case that did this the circle of the Van Halen message boards and was banned from everyone as she would often get people’s personal info and call their wives, work and claiming she had had sex with people (for instance)
USS Missouri (Iowa class)
LOL Great link. I think her American California cousin is nicely summarized here:

A very long thread with a lot of allusions not everyone might get, but a fun read if you have say, 48 hours worth, of some time to kill.
I know that it wasn’t a real risk, but still when I look at something so big, so fairly narrow, and so hugely long it looks like it ought to break in half on a moderate wave. How they survived heavy weather without the bow, or stern, or both falling off is beyond me. The bow forward of the first gun looks about the length of a frigate or maybe even a destroyer.
Then again, this is coming from someone whose boat’s beam is approaching half its length, which is about my ideal proportion for a stable boat.
Think about it - the bending force on the bow in heavy weather is essentially the amount of water normally displaced by the bow that isn’t there/is there and wouldn’t normally be. The more slender the bow, the smaller this force is. Hence, a narrow bow reduces the chance of it breaking off.
Amidships of course the ship is really very wide, both to carry the weight of armour and to provide a stable gun platform.
Yeah, I know that, but you’re talking to someone who looks at huge airliners in the sky and wonders how they stay up (even though I know how the principles of lift and thrust work to do it). There’s a world of difference between abstract theories in physics and mathematics and, so far as this little rubber duck is concerned, observed events.
Woah, Navy talk… I assume that all three of you were in the Navy??
He was targeted for termination…
What, like this ?
(If you look closely you will see a gaucho - I think he’s spent his money belt on making friends with sailors…)
Regan sent her to support the USMC in the Lebanon in 1983 I think.
I recall his wonderful comeback to a cub reporter at a press conference
That was actually not quite what I had in mind… but I guess…
Looks like you already saw him nick but anybody with the location “1” is usually a spammer.
He’ll never post…
Preventive Strike, eh?
