Tanks and armor quiz (medium level)

Alas, my dear Herr Major, your answers are wrong because you are somehow preoccupied with the German armored vehicles. Give us, please, another try.

Not on wiki…
My next guess is a armoured cow.
Ill leave this to malaruz.

Russian light tank T-343 or T-43 of Zavod No 37

doesnt look like it…

It look a little bit like it

Bravo, my dear Mr. Sergej! Your second suggestion represents the proper identification – our mysterious vehicle really is a prototype of the Amphibious tank T 43 (Плавающий танк Т 43), produced by the Moscow State Factory No. 37.

BTW – I’m really glad that we both are the participants and the viewers of the legendary Russian web-forum http://talks.guns.ru. Welcome, my dear Sir! It seems to me that we will have some highly enticing moments here as well.

And yes – I think that I have a proper solution for that highly intriguing identification task of yours in our Russian thread. You know… that “Diminutive T 34”. I have to admit that I have really enjoyed that task a lot lately, and I think that it will definately encourage our members as well!

And now – please proceed. It’s your turn now!

Thanks a lot Librarian.
I thinks this is not to hard to identefy the following.

No, this task was not a difficult one, my dear Mr. Sergej: our mysterious vehicle is T-29. This experimental model never came into production, and the project stopped when his designer, Mikhail Ilyich Koshkin, was called to Kiev in 1937 to develop a new tank - the famous T-34.

No question you are completly right. It’s your turn Librarian.

Thank you, my dear Mr. Sergej. And now another armored mystery is here with us. Do you recognize this type, honorable ladies and gentlemen?

I think it is a Ford/Thompson armoured car build in 41/42

Indeed, my dear Mr. Sergej – our mysterious celebrity was the Ford Mk VI Armoured Car, built in Ireland in 1942 by Thomas Thompson & Son Co. of Carlow on a 122-inch Ford lorry chassis, which was equipped by 3.6 liter Ford V8 85 HP petrol engine, and additional, original MG turret modelled upon the Landsverk’s L-180.

Essentially, these vehicles were standard 4x2 Ford truck chassis based armored lorries, equipped with the Thompson lightly armoured body. They had faithfully and vigorously served within the Irish Defence Forces until 1964, being in action during the Operation “Sarafield”, performed by the Irish Army in the Congo as component of the multinational United Nations peacekeeping forces in that country.

My sincerest congratulations, Sir. Please, carry on.

Strange that a vehicle like this - I am talking about the WW1 look here - is built in 1942, an aera where engineers already planned tanks like Tiger, Panther, Josef Stalin-2 or M36 Jackson.

Thanks, Now I present you a new steel monster and I hope it is not too easy

Hello, and Happy Monday, everyone!

Good pick, Sergej, but isn’t that the Renault SRB prototype of the Char B? Truly a “retro” looking vehicle!

Take care, everyone!

Here is my latest offering:

Enjoy!

And the answer is: Autoblinda Lince - nearly exact copy of the British Daimler Dingo scout car. It was produced by Lancia after the Italo-Allied armistice and used by the RSI.

Hello, Librarian and all!

Librarian’s got it… the Italian knock-off of a Dingo armored car. Once again, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

Okay Librarian, it is your turn… puzzle us!

Thank you, my dear Malarz Russ, so here we go: do you recognize this one, honorable ladies and gentlemen?
