Yes, they’re now using biological agents.
Haha, are you referring to the Swine Flu?
What pisses me off is that I have to pay a nickel for a plastic bag wherever I shop in Toronto! Outside of Toronto the bags are free. But at Walmart and Home Depot there a nickel regardless where you shop. Even the bloody beer Store in Sudbury is charging a nickel. They say its an environment fee. Some store don’t even punch the price of the bags into their register but still ask for it after, which they probably pocket the thieves, instead of giving it to the government.
I hate paying this stupid bag fee which goes to the government. What do they do with it ?. I don’t think they protect the environment with my nickel. I think all these nickels are used to pay for some bureaucrat fat cat’s dinner!.
Canada has only a fraction of people compared to the USA and we are a young country compared to USA, yet we have similar sized land mass. I see so many trees in Canada and so much land so what environment is my nickel protecting? We haven’t even begun to ruin our land. We even ship our garbage to the USA (Michigan) because the USA is stupid enough to take our garbage). This prissy over zealous do goody attitude with the environment makes me sick. I shouldn’t have to pay a nickel for a bag at the Walmart. Those bastards make enough money. They should give us our dam bags for free and let me throw my bag out with the garbage when I am done with it. In a Democratic country I demand this right. Lastly, what the hell difference does my paying a nickel per bag make to the environment? I’m still going to throw out the bag with my garbage, and it goes to Michigan anyways so I’m not even impacting my own immediate environment. Let us have free bags when we buy stuff. This bag fee thing smells rotten. This is how Nazi Germany started. Nobody complained and we let these Nazi bag fee do gooders walk all over us. Enough is enough. I am so pissed, I’m going to go at lunch time and cut or break a small tree down just for the hell of it!
You pay a nickel for a plastic bag in Halifax, too, herman. And I don’t think it’s wrong. Why should we even get into it. If they managed to have no more Canadian plastic bags, that would mean tens of millions of plastic bags less every single day!
Get yourself a jute bag then and keep it with you when you’re shopping. The environment will thank you and there are attractive models available!
I can see the looks now on the other customers faces when carrying that bag around!
Why do the retailers not then replace plastic bags with more environmentally friendly bags? Then at least your nickel could be said to be doing something useful for the environment.
Surely the retailers ought to be taking some responsibility for supplying the bags in the first instance, other than levying a fine on the customer? So we pay a fine for using one of their environment damaging bags which probably allows them to advertise their name, service or product on its outside.
By charging a levy, they not only get a mark-up from the charge, but the reduction in demand for bags can also serve to reduce their overheads. Among other things, there is also the impact of the supply of jobs in the plastic-bag manufacturing industry.
and another thing that pisses me off is that on my day off, I noticed some Chinese old people rumaging through my blue box on garbage day, taking out my empty beer cans so they can return them for a nickel. Has a man no privacy anymore! Can I not through out my empty beer cans in Peace!
You’re complaining about paying a nickel for a plastic bag but on the other hand you throw deposit bottles/cans in the garbage???
Good job Herman.
High school sophomores piss me off… They have the biggest egos, and are some of the smallest people on campus… They should fear the seniors!!!
We to have to pay for plastic bags where I come from.
What pisses me off is people who come to my country and don’t learn English!. I may not know how to spell or write as articulant as some people like PDF or Nick but at least I Speak English and understand it!. Today on my way to work some lady was blocking the sidewalk waiting to get inside a store cause there was a sale. I said excuse me nicely and she ignored me. i said it again and she turned away, so I pushed her and said MOVE. All she could do is mumble something in Chinese. I have nothing against immigrants but at least learn the dam language!
LOL I worked with a old Italian guy that could barely speak English even though he’d been in the US for almost 40 years. Nice guy with a tremendous work ethic, but if he put one-tenth as much energy in his language skills as he did his job, he’d be an eloquent speaker. Instead, we kept getting complaints that the clients couldn’t understand a word he said. And when he got excited or angry, it just became a completely bastardized gibberish or mush that I’m pretty sure no Italian could understand either…
:shock::shock::shock:
I thought this to be an Oxymoron.
The older generations of Italians in Australia were generally recognised as very hard workers, and generally in minimum wage or below minimum wage jobs in which they worked very hard to better themselves and their children in ways and in jobs many earlier Australians wouldn’t touch.
Notably, this included Italian POWs who were used here as farm labourers during the war and who were later sponsored by their ‘employers’ to migrate here after the war, such was the high regard in which they were held as workers and, more importantly, as people.
The same was true of most people who came here from Europe in the decade or two after WWII.
Since then it has been increasingly less true, but I’ll shut up about that because it’s not acceptable nowadays to state the unpalatable fact that some groups of people are pretty much a waste of space and food in the new countries they infest as social welfare bludgers and criminal parasites.
What pisses me off today is that its the long weekend and the bastards at the beer store never have enough employees to handle the rush. the line up is like 12 people long and the guy running the store is by himself and all these idiots come with their empty’s. I mean, its a long weekend so why the hell do the knobs bring their empty’s on the Friday? It delays the whole line up from paying customers who need their beer to enjoy the weekend, cause Monday the stores are closed (Labour Day Holiday). I waited like 20 minutes and then when I get to the line they run out of my beer so I have to settle for second best , then they only have it in bottles and not cans.bla bla bla. My point is simple. Don’t return your empty beer bottles on a Friday. Get a Life and throw them in the grass or garbage or wait till frigin mid week to return them when there are no lineups!>Oh, and for all those people that CAN’T SPEAK ENGLISH…it’s not the beer stores job to decide for you what beer you want. if you can’t speak ENGLISH, then don’t buy BEER. Go to school and learn how to pronounce LABATTS BLUE, and that will do it. Dam Refugee Beer drinkers. It makes my blood boil!
It’s not our fault that 95% of Canadian beers tastes like cooled piss.
It takes a bit of consideration until we’ve found a brand where the trade off between drinking piss and getting drunk is acceptable.
You should taste the American import versions of Canadian beers. Slightly more tolerable than most mass produced American brews…
It doesn’t REALLY piss me off, but is a disappointment. I bought a six pack of bottled Guinness and it tasted odd to me. Come to find out it’s brewed in Canada instead of Ireland and distributed to the States. You can definitely tell the difference. Now I have to hunt around to find the brew made in Ireland, which is difficult because they’re bringing this “stuff” from Canada!
Oh dear God. And to think I’m going to be spending half of December over there…
