Czech forces?
They are not Czech too…
next clue: The vehicle was armed with Bofors 37 mm AT gun. Only 2 copies were constructed.
Hi woj,
are this soldiers part of the Army of your Country, the Poland? If so, i go for 1938, Poland, Polish Army.
ps - I’m sorry if i poked my nose into your profile, but it was only to realize thet you’re from Poland…
OK, Skorzeny57, amico mio, you´ve got it!
This soldiers are members of the recon company of the 10th Motorized Cavalry Brigade by the manoeuvres in 1938 in East Poland.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10th_Motorized_Cavalry_Brigade_(Poland)
The brigade, also known as Black Brigade was 1937 the first fully motorised unit of Polish Army.
Only the soldiers of this Polish formation used German helmets M1916/17 and this was my trick as I asked you
The vehicle is an experimental TKS-D SPG armed with Bofors 37 mm AT gun.
Skorzeny57 - your turn
woj,
thanx for the info and the pictures! I’ll post the next puzzle tomorrow. Stay alert and have a good night!!!
Here’s a quite easy quiz for you, guys… This picture was shot during the landing, that was part of an important amphibious and airborne operation. You should guess the operation name, When that operation took place, Where they landed and from wich Army are the soldiers of the picture.
Cheers to all of you!
Which picture, mate?
Hi woj,
i’m sorry… I’ve made a fool of myself… I forgot the Attachment, probably 'cause i’m getting old… Anyway, finally here’s the picture.
Operation Husky, 9-10 July 1943, Sicily. British 51st Highland Division landing on the 9th July 1943 southwest of Cape Passero, the southernmost tip of Sicily. http://www.combinedops.com/PHOTOS%20GENERAL/Huskey_sicily.jpg
http://www.combinedops.com/husky.htm#The%20Landings
It’s useless to say that Mr. Rising Sun* has made bingo…
For your more than satisfactory answer, you won an extra prize… A weekly stay for two persons on the same beach. I posted that picture 'cause in these last times the same places of the landing of Husky Operation are getting famous for the numberless illegal landings of people that’s escaping from Marocco and Lybia.
We wait your quiz with anxiety and trepidation…
skorzeny, I am overwhelmed by your generous offer of a beachside holiday. However, we have similar holidays much closer to home with plenty of entertainment http://www.3aw.com.au/blogs/3aw-generic-blog/more-christmas-island-riots/20110318-1bzkw.html , so I hope you won’t be offended if I decline your offer.
Not so much where and when, but who and what is the significance?
However, we have similar holidays much closer to home with plenty of entertainment, so I hope you won’t be offended if I decline your offer.
hmmm… I´m not sure… sharks, snakes, vipers, crocodiles and some other species…
If I´m right, because of his hat, he seems to be an Australian.
OK Rising RS*,
since you have certain entertainments next to home, you can avoid a long fly to Italy… You may offer the prize you won to someone else…
About the puzzle you posted, i agree with woj about the man, that seems Australian. The dog looks like a Pointer or an Harrier… (i’m not sure, 'cause i’m not an expert about dogs breeds). I’m scared that we need some other clues…
The man isn’t Australian and neither is the dog.
Skorzeny is correct about it being a pointer. It’s an English pointer.
Despite the uniform, the man isn’t a soldier, but he is in one of the armed services.
I’ve never seen a shark and don’t want to. There’s bound to be plenty of great whites near the beach where I swim at my beach shack, because of the huge seal colony in the area, and if I see one it might be the last thing I see.
Snakes aren’t too bad. They generally keep out of people’s way. I’ve seen nearly as many on city and country golf courses as I have in the bush. I’ve passed within half a metre of a snake on two different occasions (one tiger http://tigersnakes.com.au/ and one copperhead http://www.tigerhomes.org/animal/australian-copperhead.cfm and they left me alone, although I nearly died of fright when I saw them as I was passing.
These are what I really don’t like http://badassanimals.tumblr.com/post/611128763/sydney-funnel-web-spider-in-america-we-have-a and they’re moving south towards me.
On the other hand, I have plenty of these http://australianmuseum.net.au/Redback-Spider living under and around my house, but they usually leave people alone unless people come into contact with them.
Please don´t be angry Rising Sun but that´s also why I prefer to make holiday in Italy
I think, I´ve got the story about the dog called “JUDY” and Frank Williams
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1302677/Judy-dogged-PoW-defied-Japanese.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judy_(dog)
That’s it.
Your turn.
Hi woj,
thanx for the links related to that beautiful story. I think that’s the umpteenth demonstration that animals sometimes have more humanity than human beings…
Since Rising Sun* declined the offer of a weekly stay on a south Sicily beachside, you may take advantage of it…
Hi Skorzeny,
Thank you for your offer I think we should put it into the jackpot
Well, the story of the brave JUDY is really beautiful but… not unusual at all.
Here the next of our “animal_questions” guys - please identify the year, the place and the unit, but first of all, him
Hi woj,
i think this bear should be Wojtek, considering the 22nd Artillery Supply Company insignia on the truck… About the place and the year, let me think about it…
