WW2 aircraft

Yup, that’s the fishie in question!

I was initially thinking of putting up the lesser known AS 14 landplane version (one prototype, armed with a 37mm cannon, mentioned elsewhere on this forum), but then I thought “what the heck, let’s have an easy one for a change, it’s summer, after all”.

Board is yours again, Mr Malarz.

Hello, y’all!

This 'un shouldn’t be too hard for the aircraft recognition experts here:

Enjoy!

This looks pretty british (General aircraft?) or am I off the track? A small clue would be helpful…

First flew in June, 1939

Here is a side view:

IJA type 1 transporter Kokusai Ki-59, allied codename “Theresa”

some 59 built in 1941/42

Heya, y’all!

It seems the usual suspects are returning from summer vacations / holidays!

You got it… the Ki-59 “Theresa”, one of the more non-descript looking aircraft to fly with Japanese forces!

Okay, Tom, the ball’s in your court… give us a good one!

Ok, I think this is hard enough:

Heya, Tom!

Your offering is the Mitsubishi KI-33, basically a updated A5M “Claude” Navy fighter, made for an Imperial Army request for a replacement for the KI-10 biplane fighter.

I’ll go with what he said.

Nifty machine too.

Yeah, non descript indeed it wasn’t even in my list of Kokusai’s…
carson

Now Malarz we are waiting for your interesting challenge as you cracked open Tom’s offering!

Hm, again still not hard enough.

Your turn.

Heya, y’all!

Okay… here’s an easy one:

Enjoy!

In spite of the US insignia it is a Mitsubishi Ki-83 of 1944. Only 4 aircrafts built and with good US petrol it reached 704 km/H!
carson:D:D

Heya, Carson!

You got it! The Mitsubishi KI-83 heavy fighter prototypes… they came as a complete surprise to Allied aviation experts, hence, no standardized code name.

Give us a good one, Carson!

Hi Malarz
I have several good ones in store to give you but since I cannot stand the prevailing temperatures in central Italy (35 to 40°) I’m leaving today for a resort high up in the mountains and I’ll be back on Aug. 30th.
Therefore I do not want to hold up this thread and declare open house.
Le the best one win!
carson;)

I’m going to fill the gap with another disguised one:

Since I didn’t depart yet (I’m leaving in approx. three hours) let me try my offer:
Caproni Ca/314(after the armistice quite a number of italian airplanes were requisitioned ,as you all know, by the former german allies which painted on most of them their swastikas).
But of course I could be totally off the track!
carson

Hey, that’s not fair, you shoud’ve been gone. I’d have never picked an Italian one if I’d known you’re still around!:wink:
Anyway, my source says Caproni Ca 313 but since I’m not aware of the differences between 313 and 314 I’ll assume you’re right!

Post another puzzler, FTG! Looks like Carson is enjoying his mountain top resort!
