WW2 aircraft

Caudron C-714?

Hi Carson. This aircraft surely is the SABCA S.47 based on the Caproni Ca 335.
Regards.

Yes definitely Colonel it is the Caproni CA-335 (or SABCA A-47 whatever you want to call it).
The ball is in your half.
carson

P.S. Sorry Kiwimac no Caudron

Thanks Carson. Here’s one to be going on with.

VEF I-16

It has german markings but it is a latvian prototype…

Hi Carson,
What can I say…Correct, once again! Over to you.

Man, that was quick.

Thanks very much Colonel.
May I now challenge you gentlemen with this rather obscure italian plane of the late thirties of which only one prototype was made?..
carson

Hi Carson. Well this aircraft looks decidely like the BREDA BA75, if I’m not mistaken of which only one prototype was produced. Regards.

Hi Colonel,
it looks like a Breda 75 because it is a Breda 75, spot on. Your turn
Cheers
carson

Thanks Carson. Well Gentlemen, here’s another aircraft for your delectation. Only one was ever built !

Yes it is true my dear Colonel only one was made and it is the Stearman XA21 of 1939…maybe somebody realized how ugly it was !
carson

Hi Carson. What can I say except ‘well done, once again sir’, absolutely correct. The Stearman XA-21 was not one of the most memorable aircraft to grace the skies, and apparently nobody liked it! ;) Over to you…

Thanks Colonel
This time I think I’m going to deviate from fighters or bombers and submit instead a utility aircraft of which many versions were built in the long run.
That’s the one:

Hi Carson. Must be the CaudronC449 utility aircraft. This particular airframe was the Goeland trainer of Air France 1957.

Absolutely right dear Colonel it is the Caudron C-440 Goeland. The ball is in your half so please play…
carson

You lot are too quick for me!

Hi Kiwimac,
in most cases it’s just a matter of sheer luck…
carson

Thanks Carson . Well Gentlemen here we go again. Keeping with utility aircraft this one was originally produced pre WW2.

Hmm…that’s a hard nut to crack Colonel too many look-alikes…maybe a small clue?:confused:
carson

I’m pretty sure I’m wrong but it is awfully similar to a Fairchild 24C8C of 1934 except that yours has a rougher look and an oversized exhaust pipe…
carson
PS as I said a small clue would be in order I don’t want to hoist white flag yet
