Ah, what a nice find! Hispano Suiza HS-43. Even though I didn’t know the aircraft, this was quite an easy search, because the Spanish Nationalist marking on the aircraft to the left of the picture immediately gave me time and place…
Hispano Aviación HA-43
And this is what happens when I don’t read the LAST post.
its ok man,. you ll have your chance
What else can I say wingsofwrath? it is indeed the Hispano Aviacion HA43/B(the 1950 version with Armstrong-Siddeley Cheetah engine amd retractable landing gear).
Your turn
Cheers
Carson
Please, allow me to present you with the next riddle:
Avro Spartan Clipper?
Indeed it is, My esteemed Mr. Kiwimac! And one equipped with a Pobjoy Niagara engine, no less.
Your turn!
Dear Kiwimac
good to hear from you again!
Your pic is:
Halton HAC-3 “Meteor”. This flying wing although 90% completed never flew (1929 - UK ).
Cheers
Carson
Excellent! Over to you friend.
Good afternoon!
May I challenge your aviatory wisdom with the following big and “stupid” aircraft?
Good luck

P.S. Just click on the blue code to view item. Imageshack is making things difficult!
Slippery little devil, but I think I’ve found her: Kawanishi Type-12 Sakura, built in 1928 as the first Japanese long range passenger plane.
Wouldn’t have found her if it weren’t for the fact that I recently looked at the history of the Japan Air Transport Co. Ltd. for an unrelated project and I vaguely remembered seeing this aircraft in one of their pictures…
Congratulations Wingsofwrath it wasn’t easy!
Maybe other forumexes ( I admit, a horrible neologism!) might find it amusing to know that this “big and stupid” aircraft wasn’t scrapped after her short career but it was hung from the ceiling of Kawanishi as a memento of “[b]how an aircraft shouldn’t be built”.
Typically japanese don’t you think?
Anyway it’s your well deserved turn dear Sir
Carson
Thank you, my dear Mr Carson!
For our next question, please allow me to introduce this interesting beastie - as usual, I’ve obscured the all-too-obvious registration number, since a database search is so easy these days. In any case, I don’t foresee any large difficulties for such well versed aircraft identification specialists such as yourselves…
I think it is a General Aviation Clark GA-43 of 1932 (one of these models was handed over to the republicans during the spanish civil war)
Cheers
Carson
Indeed it is:
Hmm, double post goodness!
Yes Mr. Carson, you are bang on the money, this is indeed the General Aviation GA-43 (in this particular case one owned by Swissair), as also confirmed by Mr. Kiwimac.
Your turn to post!
