Welcome to site. I am a newbie myself (member less than a month).
You and I share some common interests.
If you are ever in DC you should visit the newest addition to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum…not to be confused with the original museum located downtown, near the US Capitol.
I’m referring to the Udvar Hazy Center located near Dulles Airport (IAD).
Its a great museum and a giant hanger, the aircraft on display between there and the downtown museum cover every facet on US aviation history.
I’ll enclose a link below. And, as usual for all major attractions in Wash, DC; admission is free to all.

Although I am a Nature Conservationist I am also a very keen aircraft enthusiast especially german aircraft of ww2.
Some time ago I read that thye Russian Air force operated anumber of capture FW 190 D’s i n the Russian Far East. Does anyone know whether this is correct. I am planning a overland trip to Russia very soon and it would be interesting to follow up on this rumour/fact
