Hi,
both of my grandparents were doctors in WW2, in Germany for my grandmother, and in Germany and on the Eastern Front for my grandfather. They were social friends of the Rommels, and he was one of the last people to see Rommel alive. My grandmother was the camp doctor for 3 satellite camps of the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp, from which she rescued 3 prisoners, 2 Russians and one French, employing one of the Russians as a maid for her children. For her efforts, she was protected by the French Resistance after the war. My grandfather? An early-joiner of the NSDAP, and possibly a conspirator in the plot to kill Hitler. Stories are vague and contradict. Sadly, the military records that could straighten this out are lost. I live in Canada.

Hello everyone,
I’m Gaetano, 16 years old and live in Flanders. I’m interested in all kinds of wars, aiming to study military history later on.
As for WWII, I have one M35 German helmet wich I cleaned up, I play BF1942 (used to play Medal of Honour), and I’ll buy Call of Duty 5 or any other WWII shooter as soon as I get a PS3.
My major hobby is LEGO, and I build creations from WWII too, I need some reference for the Königstiger, that’s actually the first reason I came to join here.
I see most of you know a lot of WWII, so I hope to learn more and have a great time over here
Sincerely,
Gaetano

I was wondering if some one has a picture of a French Mas Rifle with the sling showing. I would like to see the correct way to attach the sling to my new rifle
Kind Regards

Hello,
I’m from Germany. My whole family served in WWI and WWII. I look forward to share my knowledge and stories with you. Also i collected alot of german WW2-photos (4000+) from albums and selling them on CD if anyone is interested.
If interested or have questions, send me an e-mail: tkfotos@gmx.de 6,99€/CD.
Hey guys, welcome to the site.
Hello,
I will be posting as Contra Account. I found this site while searching for information on the M1A1 Abraham Battle Tank. I am retired from the computer industry and I am very impressed with the capabilities offered by WWII in COLOR.
I come from a family that served/serves when called. My brother-in-law was a tank driver in WWII landing in Normandy on D+6 a month shy of his 19th birthday. He and a cousin joined together but were separated shortly after arriving in England. The cousin was injured when his tank was hit and my relative was injured a couple months later in Belgium. He convalesced in England for a few weeks and went back in as a truck driver as he could no longer drive a Sherman tank. My brother served in Korea during the Korean War and I served during the Vietnam era as an artilleryman (13A10).
I have several nephews and one niece that also served in peace time.
You may say that I’m a WWII buff because when I was real young, every male between the ages of around 25 and 35 had served in the military. My seventh grade teacher ferried B17s to England and told the class one time that on every delivery his group would be greeted by German radio broadcasts at about 200 miles from England welcoming them to Europe, complete with aircraft types, number of airplanes and flight numbers. Another person I knew, a farmer, flew B17 bombing missions over Germany. I also knew several Marines, many Navy people that served aboard destroyers and battleships, and one submariner. These people were battle hardened men and never talked about their experience, except for a few good times they had along the way.
Many of them had severe problems, mainly with alcohol. I spend a lot of time with my brother-in-law to keep him company more than anything else.
Glad to be a member!
Hello!
New in the Forum, and my first question is: How to buy a single photograph?
I have seen a color one of a Jagdtiger. I would like to know the size and resolution of the pic.
