New members topic- Introduce yourself here:

Hi Guy’s.

Just joined because of my interest in the Aircraft of WWII-managed to build up quite a comprehensive file of allside a/c but always on the lookout for more.Ex-RAF. 20 years in some interesting places and a few hot spots!!

Any info would be appreciated.

Re ‘Saving Private Ryan’ opening scenes my Dad was attached to the Yanks and arrived in the second wave at Omaha-he said it was just like the film-bodies everywhere and the Beach marshall made him drive his half track over them-how do you forgt things like that eh?

Hi all…I’m new here… basically interested in seeing how many other WWII fightin’ forty bees are maybe still around? I hear so many stories of what my gramps went through and I enjoy them… he is a living history book to me…
I guess I’m wondering if any of his friends are still around…from way back and maybe would like to find some memorabilia from his time or perhaps even his battalion since he lost all his photos in hurricane Katrina…

I’m Dara and I’m very interested in the 101st Airborne during World War II. Even though I am mostly interested in that particular group, I love learning all that I can about World War II. I have started researching events in the Pacific and find many of our tactics jaw-dropping to say the least. I’m sure I’ll have a chance to explain that thought later. Unfortunately, I feel like we didn’t have any of this in the school that I went to (or I seriously wasn’t paying attention). I should have probably taken history in college, but I went with the medical field (I’m a Surgical Technologist and a Medical Transcriptionist), which has taught me some very interesting things about wars and medical history.

I’m not just interested in World War II. I am very much interested in the Vietnam war, the Civil War and the Korean War as well as ancient warfare.

I hope to meet some interesting people here and learn from all of you.

Guys and Gals, this is a tremendous forum…thanks.

Hello again everyone. Bob Starr here, sorry I haven’t posted in awhile but someone decided they wanted to use my email account for a scam base. My account got hacked into and people I email started to get letters asking for money. Needless to say the account no longer exists and I’ve reestablished a new and different account. I know this isn’t really the topic for the forum just thought I’d explain. I am currently putting together a Swiss impression for next years reenacting season and it’s coming along nicely. Thanks mainly to a gentleman in Switzerland that’s been a big help. I’m also still working on my Japanese AT guns for next years events also. Once I get things together and a digital camera I will post pics for everyone. Thanks for listening. Bob Starr

Hello Guys. Nice site. Glad to be here.

Hello, I’m Mike, I’m new. I will check-in from time to time.
I am searching for my Uncle’s B-24 which crashed in the North Adriatic Sea October 16, 1944 at 44/48 N-14/16E near Trieste italy.
I hope to go to that location this summer.
Nice meeting you all.
Mike

hello,i am so glad to have found this site.

Greetings all. I’m new here, thus the introduction thread. I’m a German born American citizen living in the US.

My father served with honor with the 14th Panzer Division. My brother died fighting with the HJ. I am very much an advocate of the common German solider, however, fiercely anti-nazi. I refuse to even give them the benifit of proper capitalization.

I have a great interest in WWII, especially armor, aircraft and weapons.
