Greetings all. I’m new here, thus the introduction thread. I’m a German born American citizen living in the US.

My father served with honor with the 14th Panzer Division. My brother died fighting with the HJ. I am very much an advocate of the common German solider, however, fiercely anti-nazi. I refuse to even give them the benifit of proper capitalization.

Your father and brother deserve the respect all soldiers deserve for fighting for their country.

Surprising though it may seem, I am not anti-nazi per se, for there were elements of it which were beneficial to many Germans during a bad time, but I, like I think most of us here, am anti-Nazi in the sense of the rampant parts of Nazi ideology and conduct. Which is why I capitalised it in the negative.

I have a great interest in WWII, especially armor, aircraft and weapons.

I tend to think of the nazis as anti-German before they were anti-everyone else…

No great claims to make, just a life-long interest in both World Wars and the equipment employed in them.
I speak French and English, and can read a few other European languages, though am not an expert in translating, I am willing to help where it may be needed.
My GrandFather fought at Passchendaelle in World War One, and My uncle fought at El Alamein , Crete, and Monte Cassino in World War Two.
Technical details interest me, politics and casualty details do not.

I’m a big fan of everything WW2. especially technical information on anything from Aircraft to ships to Rheinmetall MG131s…

I’m a modeller of Aircraft mainly but foray occasionally into Tanks. (my fave is the Kingtiger). i was looking for some info on a list of captured Me 262 a2s and found the great thread on the above Cannons… looks like i shall be here for quite a while.
