Howdy, My name is Jon. I stumbled in here through a google search. I have been interested in World War 2 history since I could read practically. My main interests are Pacific carrier battles and air combat. Both of those led me to eleven years in the U. S. Navy. Cheers.

Hi! My name is Lili. I’m from Russia. We are interested in exchange of experience and information with you. On our site you can finde a lot of interesting information about military archeology in Russia, now in english! Let’s chat!

Hello, my name is Karen McClellan I live in Sonoma County, California & I am interested in hearing from others who perhaps had family members who served in WWII, particularly during the “restitution/reparations” era in 1947 - until the U.S. (in most part) left the European theatre. My father is 94 yrs. old, he served as a U.S. Army Lt. Col. in the War Finance Dept. stationed in Vienna, Austria. He has many photos, documents & memorabilia that fascinates me. During the U.S. Occupation of Austria he was stationed in many parts of Austria, i.e; Salzburg, Vienna & many others I note in his pictures, as an officer , he was able to stay in some beautiful castles & Austrian estates. He made many friends there, both Austrian, German, Italian & other allied forces. He loved Austria, he served w/great respect for the military & wore his uniform w/pride, however, he never took anything for granted & never condemned anyone around him for their beliefs or “history”. He has pictures of the signs directing “travelers” to Hitler, Goering & Gormann’s House, the SS Barracks, quite fascinating. He also has documents, which for reasons of their content & the fact he is still living, I won’t explain further at this time. I am still researching their history. Anyway, that being my story, I am really interested in anyone out there who may have had family members or perhaps someone reading this, that they themselves, served in the U.S. Army during this period of time, especially anyone who served in any division of the War Finance Dept., Marshall Plan, “Gold Train” issues etc. thank you for having a site to investigate & discuss w/others. karen mcclellan daughter of Retired U.S. Lt.Col. & Reservist & Army National Guardsman.
