I’m back on broadband speed, courtesy of losing the internet connection and resetting the router etc. I forgot that this overcomes the dial up limitation, possibly by allocating a new IP address or something at the ISP so it forgets I’ve been speed limited.
You can reset your static-IP by shutting down your router for about eight to 72 hours, depending on the provider…
You need to teach your daughter either how to use a proxy or bittorrent. 
Reinstalling my hardwired router does it instantly, after ipconfig /release and de-powering the modem for a few seconds.

Id like to tell you that Im about to deploy and will be off site and unavailable for about a week.
However, I got deployed early as a short notice replacement to an entirely different theatre to which I trained for.
To Panzernackers great joy (or perhaps despair) I am actually typing this in the Falkland Islands.
As I have the web at work and am spending a lot of time in the office (its fekin freezin outside) I may actually get to be around a lot more than I have been.

There are many bars and Clubs at the airport. There are a few half decent Pubs in Stanley, which is about 30 miles from me.
Still, nice to see the snow again, who needs a Summer and by the time I get back to the Uk it will be time for Winter!

Im part of the Glorious Empires global reach, defending the islands against all comers. Stuck here for 4 months and without giving any secrets away, its surprising just how much military we actually have down here.
Not the best place in the world, but certainly a better one than some desert locations I can think of. Hey I wonder where my IP says I am?

Just got back. The journey each way was awful, although apart from spending 5 hours each way jammed in the back of a Herc I have to say that the RAF were great. My battalion, however, would be hard pressed to find their own arse with both hands and a map, while one of the RMPs put me through possibly the most ridiculous airport security screening ever (confiscating the battery from my MP3 player because it didn’t have masking tape over the terminals!).
I’m off for a couple of days to the woods (Eifel Mountains/Ardennes), back sometime between tomorrow and friday, depends on the weather…
