Well, the old PC was mid-2005, but the new one is back up and running now so I’ll be causing trouble like usual from now on.
I am still on my 2005 laptop. But I finally convinced myself to get a new one…Dell should be knocking on my door next week.
A bunch of older computer illiterates --whom I’m basically training and becoming an active, unpaid tech-support guy for-- decided to pick up the laptop deals they have now at retail outlets such as Best Buy in the States. Their $300-500 computers easily match or burn my computer, which was bought on practically a fire-sale for almost $900 three years ago…
Got a shipping notification from dell. Should be there Monday.

Yes, but the good news for you is that it’s a great time to buy a computer right now. I might be looking at a desktop to do more stuff faster now that I seem to be more back into music…
especially with all the back to school sales.
Off by monday morning for a short vacation to the Dutch North Sea coast. Back on friday (saturday to RS*).
Going to the US with my girlfriend (doing the whole meet-the-parents thing, among others) tomorrow, so I’ll only be online intermittently until after Christmas - don’t expect to see me on the site regularly until about the 26th or 27th.

I’m going to be on sporadically for the next day or two at least. My main laptop has a nasty Trojan that keeps duplicating itself somehow and antispyware programs seem to have a hard time getting rid of it. I’ve reformatted my old Dell Dimension (or is it Dementia 
) 8100 with Windows XP, which it wasn’t really designed for, but the operating system is “OS” for old-and-slow. Although, it does run the internet okay I have to say, there’s no audio and it can freeze a bit…
Meh, I think I’ve finally got a hold of it, after going through about five different antispyware programs…
Recommending SUPERAntiSpyware for those having problems…
I won’t be around much or at all for the next few days. Long, long weekend here.
