Staying another night in hospital, everybody’s fine but the baby prefers sleeping to eating so until she’s changed her mind they’re keeping both of them in. So it’s just me and the cat tonight.

That’s one well-fed baby! The three of mine were all about 4kg as well, but all of them are boys who carry some extra weight.

My baby son used to get wheezy and sneezy and watering eyes about halfway on the two hour trip between our city home and beach shack. Eventually his eyes puffed up so much he couldn’t open them. I suspected it was something in the area about halfway on our trip, such as rye grass.
I was correct. He was tested for allergies and was allergic to rye grass. Also cats.
It was our cat sitting in the cage next to him in the back seat on the way to the beach shack that did the damage.
0.64, although at least over here we measure adults in stone and babies in lbs for no apparent reason.
Yep, 13 days overdue as well which clearly helped!
I know she’s vicious but so far has shown no signs of actually wanting to eat the baby. In fact, she purred when first introduced - which is a rare reaction for her!
Your Missus reminds me of a lady in our old neighborhood, a tiny woman about 95 Lbs. Had 5 kids, none weighed less than 10 lbs at birth, and all took 10 months, and days. The longer terms didn’t seem to cause any trouble at all for the kids.
13 days? Over here they generally induce labour when ten days overdue.
14 days in the UK. Right now she’s having her first screaming fit, having been in a feeding frenzy all day, so I’m curled up in front of my computer in a sleeping bag with her on my lap wriggling and burbling away. If she ever settles down then maybe I’ll get some sleep tonight (the Mrs is getting quite frazzled - hardly surprising as this is supposed to be the day when the baby blues start hitting, and it’s midnight over here).
I’ll be out of town for a week or two, I’ll have access from time to time though.
Same here, the annual summer vacation at the Dutch Channel coast…I’ll be around from time to time thanks to free WLAN. Starting friday, staying two weeks.
We need to put a sign up on the forum - “the mods are all on holiday, so f*** off until we get back”

Hi all, just checking in from the balmy North woods of Wisconsin. Good to see everything going well.
I’ll be leaving for a two weeks’ vacation to Bulgaria tomorrow. Although it’ll be an ordinary beach vacation it’s something completely new. Bulgaria…unintelligible language, strange script, unknown currency…we will see.
Wait till you try the food… Mind you they will probably think you’re BND.
