Please anounce if you will be on Vacation

First of all “Get well soon”, pdf27.

Gone now for two weeks on vacation to the Dutch Channel Coast. There should be WLAN around, hope I’ll get everything working.
Back on July, 13.

Did you do a face plant or were you nicked by a car? In any case, heal up well soon…

Just had an operation to fix the collarbone (never really healed properly), so I’m stuck in front of a computer slightly zoned out on Tramadol for a week or two. It was another cyclist in my case that knocked me off.

Rather unfortunately, my Dad got knocked off his bike by a lorry at the same time as I was waking up from the operation. He’s going to be OK, but is pretty badly knocked about and is going to be in hospital for at least another week. He’s had an operation on his ankle, not to mention a punctured lung, fractured ribs and vertebrae, and various bruised internal organs. All things considered we’ve both got off pretty lightly!

I’m sorry to hear all that man. All the best to you and your dad and hope you both heal up soon…

Wishing the best for both you, and your Da, Mend well, and quick.

Get well soon, both of you.

Cheers guys. We’re both improving - I’m feeling a hell of a lot better having given up on the Tramadol (nasty side-effects), and he’s apparently looking a lot better having been given several pints of blood yesterday. Given how much he’s donated over a lifetime that seems only fair!

Advanced warning here: I’ve got a baby due any day now (due date was last Saturday actually, and we’ve been given a provisional eviction date of the 3rd of July if she doesn’t show up beforehand). As such I’m liable to suddenly disappear with no warning at some point…

Ah to be young… Catch up on your sleep while you can. Best wishes for you both, and your new baby.

Good luck with everything, pdf…

Best of luck mate, for your wife, baby and you.

I remember waiting for the waters to break, too.

Thanks guys. Currently 9 days overdue and she’s getting very, very fed up and grumpy…

Good luck, yes! Enjoy these magic moments…and after that cherish the few seconds of silence & peace when you get the chance to visit the forums.

That may turn out to be the start of a rather longer term issue, albeit related to raising kids.

Best of luck, mate.

The birth of a child is the biggest thing that happens to anyone.

Well, we’re at the hospital now. She’s hooked up to all sorts of happy juice and having a nap, and I’m sitting here with a laptop on the free WiFi. I should really work on my napping skills, but there isn’t really anywhere suitable to try in the room…

Childbirth certainly is a nuisance.

My wife kept moaning while I was trying to read the newspapers I had thoughtfully brought to while away what I mistakenly thought would be a fairly quick ejection.

My wife was also rather possessive of the laughing gas mask I was trying to wrestle from her. If you can get your hand on one, see how many breaths it takes before you think you can’t bite through the back of your hand, and then measure your surprise when it seems the gas is vastly overrated but you’ve drawn your own blood.

P.S.

Seriously, this is the biggest day of your life.

I’ll never forget driving home from the hospital and thinking that, were it possible for someone to give me everything in the world to own, I wouldn’t trade it for the kid just born.

I hope it all goes well, and you experience the joy I did on the birth of your child.

They’re both well, 8lbs 15oz and a full head of hair. Now to decide what to call her…

Whoa, let me be the first one to compliment! I’d suggest you call her Felicitas because she now shares birthday with my eldest son Felix.

BTW, I’ll now have to check what these strange weight specifications mean!
