OK, I’m back now. Not a very happy mission as you may know we lost an ac ln the first week we got there.
I personally lost a friend and 2 guys that I knew relatively well. Quite a down mood back home as all the guys that died lived in the local community and had done for many years.
Thats the only drawback with the way we work. Having guys work together and live amoung the locals for 12-20 years makes for a very good team. But when the shit hits the fan it hits much harder.
Ah well, theres an old UK military adage - ‘No one forced you to join up and if you can’t take a joke - you shouldnt have joined’.
