Seriously, he isn’t a spammer. Maybe he isn’t a troll as well. On my side I could tell that he’s a teenager with limited English language skills. He might try to improve his English knowledge, therefore PK let’s give him a chance! I say PK not because you banned him but because we are the non-native English speakers from the staff and we might understand this point of view. I bet that you missed this side of the story.
And the same I could tell for Clausewitz/Jan Fiala. Also we have a Croatian (who added Germany at his location) - I missed his ID at this time - with the same problem. What you say amigo?

I must say we are very far of the behavior of the Mods ( if there is a moderator in that forum) in ww2aircraft.
The people like there who are in charge can ban you if the your nick doesnt like it or you have bad breath , there is no “formal warnings” “infraction points” and other delikatessens like we do. :rolleyes:

Other thing is topic like “infraction points” , it simple there are none like this in other forums, The word of the Moderators is law and is not subject to any kind of revisionism.
And by the way just for the taste…try to enter in a spanish language forum and send a PM to the Mod with the equivalent to “Fucking wanker”, get the cronograph ready because your live as a member of that forum will be measured in seconds.
I am simple man I always direct in my opinions and actions, I never say or do something that I dont like in order to be more pleasant or “politically correct” in the view of others.
I dont like the warnings system I believe that only made the Moderating work more tiring and troublesome. I dont like the Infraction points either, I am convinced that if a member had done some serious shit she should be banned inmediatly.
And above all I dont like the private investigations carried out lately about every my actions as Moderator, like in Pdfs case, I honestly believe that the Mods worked as team, that is supporting one each others, but seems that in here such is not the case.
I am not saying that I am perfect ( there is many chances that I dont) but I am telling you guys, If you are so unconfortable with my performance or presence here you can take the next steps:
A) Remove my Mod powers.
B) Ban me for life.
C) Make me see a video of Monthy Python and I would be dead of boringness.
I too old for change my opinions, If I read any other question like “Why you banned the user stupidmoron in april 2006” ill simply wont take the trouble to reply.
Whatever be the case I am sure the my contribution in this forum both as a simple member and also as Mod is already much much more than important.
I got sent a PM from a member asking about events before I became a mod, relating to a member you banned. My options were:
- Ignore the member
- Ask questions in here
Yes, I know it isn’t nice being checked up on. However, note that the ONLY place I have ever shown any disagreement with you is in here, in private where the members can’t see it. Furthermore, on the only two occasions I have in any way questioned you external circumstances were forcing action on my part.
It’s one thing to be supportive of each other (particularly in public), it’s quite another to have some sort of hive mind where no matter what you all support each other’s actions in private as well.

My problem with Firefly is that he had lost all my respect, I dont see any need of send him a PM because I have nothing to say. He said that I was doing some shit moderation…I think he too, when erase the infraction awarded to RS BEFORE the final decission.
But now I decide to have a pragmatic acttitude, I dint come here to fight anybody just pure enternaiment, so in that way I will ignore any negative crap.

Sorry Im trying to get back on the modding track because it seems that my mods spend most of the time bitching at each other. I deleted your post because it was inflammatory. And trust me if another mod made the same post or RS had I would have deleted it as well. I didnt get the chance to PM you about it yet so I am telling you here. Dont forget PK I go back a couple of years on the modding stuff as well.

a) It’s true, in the last 1 year and a half I posted very rarely. Did you ever have asked me why? No. End of story.
b) Each of us have worked hard to get the Forum working properly. My way was to make “how to do” guides for users and for moderators. Clear enough? I never ever questioned your contributions to the board but I dared to question some of your moderating actions. It was too much? Re-read the guidelines.
A side note on Erwin’s actions. He banned Bluffcove because Bluffcove have insulted him. He banned him instantly. Well, afterwards, on a misunderstanding like we have now, Erwin insulted me and SAM was the one who warned him. As a moderator you have to be cold-blooded and to manage the situation even if you are insulted. That’s means a moderator for God sake!
I said that you acted like Erwin in RS’s situation and like Erwin you just deleted the evidences (even if it might help you here in our room for justifying your reaction). Ask GS and FW for further references.
c) Typical for your way of thinking. Why on earth should you be banned for showing your feelings here in our room? It might be insults, I don’t care and I’ll not consider myself insulted if so. So go on.

Its true, I did propose you as a Mod and overall I have been mighty pleased with that proposal, your contribution and your Modding. I’m not into what you think about me, never was, never will be, same goes for all here. If you dont like me, hey I’m a big boy and can live with that. I’ve worked very well with countless guys I have disliked in the past, not that I dislike you, its actually the contrary as I do like you.
Nevertheless, what I did when I reversed the infraction was fair, I stand by it. I think what you did was wrong. Hey Ive done wrong too in the past and admitted it. Maybe I should have an infraction too, I dunno, up to Dani and GS I suppose.
At the end of the day, we have to be seen to be fair to everyone, its oft said that we work for the members, I believe it and try to be a fair and impartial Mod. Unfortunately, at times, you seem to loose your way a wee bit there. Thats OK too, but when you lose it with a guy who has been a good contributor to the site and delete his evidence of insults then what do we have to go on?
I’m sorry if I upset you on the main boards but felt your action was way too hard on RS.
As to Dani, he has been an excellent Mod here and I dont think his recent record should be allowed to taint his overall contribution, after all, we do this because we want to and not because we have to.

No mate. We are all equal, except some of us have given up our time to be Mods. This is something we have to remind ourselves of all the time I think.
You do have an informal warning as of now.
Anyhow keeping control over the mods is your call. And im going to leave it that way. If you seriously cant do your job then let me know. I just want to know what you are doing.
On another note…Bold because its important. All threads to the archive room should be locked. So at the end of the year you lock then move. Archives are reopened at the request of members but to keep things clear all threads in archive sections are locked.
