The following member has often been a voice of reason, and gentle enlightenment. He has consistently been polite and very decent. I regard him as a positive asset to the forum. Accordingly,

I Recommend Amrit:
All-round good Posting Medal,
Loyal Member Medal,
Good Conduct Medal.

My reasons are as above, in the opening paragraph of this post.
I also take here the opportunity to Thank Amrit for educating me, and doubtless certain other members, in the basics of the rich Spiritual Traditions of which he is clearly a fine representative.
I do realise a Recommendation for three medals at once will be viewed as very unusual.
However: in regard to Amrit I genuinely feel he deserves all three medals, and that being so, `tis simply equitable that he receive all three at once, in my humble opinion.
Accordingly, I ask for a Seconder, please.

I recommend Librarian :

All round good posting medal,
Loyal Member Medal.

In various threads throughout this forum Librarian has not only educated, and often amused,
but provided vast quantities of data and illustrations, many of which are rarely if ever seen. That alone makes him more than worthy of receiving a Forum Medal, imho.

Accordingly, I ask for a Seconder, please.

I Recommend Rudeerude, and FlameThrowerGuy, each to receive:

Outstanding Idea Medal,
Outstanding Site Service Medal.

In a visually stunning series of posts, Rudeerude has put together a set of “Now and Then” images that as far as I’m aware are unique.
FlameThrowerGuy has done certain location work to assist Rudeerude, and thus merits recognition as well.

It is rare to see such a series of contrasting images yet so fully depicting the events of the era and the modern setting.
The effort it takes to put these images together is more than considerable, and the results are astounding.

Accordingly, I ask for a Seconder, please?

Ok here is a once in a lifetime opportunity … cause I dont believe in sudden glory. The 1st person to add up all the medals deserved (means seconded) … vs those that have been awarded here http://www.ww2incolor.com/forum/showthread.php?5607-Awards-List! … will get the Site service medal. Or a higher award if you have that one already. We are far behind and this needs to get going again. See who needs what award and make sure it has not already been awarded. I will take care of the rest. Just publish the list here. Thanks!

I don’t know how accurate the figures will be(at least one off, I was awarded two medals yet am only shown having one on the list), but 121 medals are listed as awarded, and 149(give or take 5 for Herman’s silliness) were nominated.*

I’m unsure about the nominations because I didn’t see much seconding from the first to sixth pages, and then weirdness happened from the 17th to the 23rd pages(or something around those).

C’mon folks, time is running out,(for all of the membership that hasn’t yet done so) if you feel that a site member should be awarded one of our very fine, distinctive, and coveted medals, now is the time to make recommendations. Specify the member, the award you wish them to receive, and the efforts they have made, listing the appropriate forum. So easy, even a caveman, or 2nd Lieutenant(maybe) can do it.
Please check the list (should be in this thread someplace,) to be sure they do not already hold the award you are considering.
These awards are very collectible, and while we cannot say that they will increase in value, we can say that they have never diminished.

Some of us have yet to understand whether or even if recommendations were acted upon by Forum Admins.
I certainly have no clue about that, as none I recommended seem to have received their medals, nor have I seen anything in my forum “inbox” suggesting I may show the medal I was so generously recommended for.

The natural result of such lack of information is that people will cease posting to this thread until they know what is happening to whom, and by what processes.
Frankly, I can understand folk being reticent currently, as I am in like case, regarding this thread.

As for the other forum threads: quite simply, life’s little details have kept me absent for a while.
