Um, I was actually reading the papers then. I never saw the CNN piece, but there was hardly a bias for the rebels. Most people here probably ignored it to be honest. But I think the Russian Army was genuinely seen as an organ acting from a democratic state. Those who payed attention realized that the “bandits” were carrying out criminal and terror attacks in Russia.
