We had feudalism. We were rid of it before it reached you, mainly on account of the plague, in the first instance, although our constitution was evolving.
By the time of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries we were making our mark in just about every part of the globe. Not bad for a tiny little island with a tiny population.

The prostitution is legal in most of the EU states. The possibility of it has been debated in Duma and among Russian authorities as well.
