World Football topic.

knowing my skill at picking winners that probably means it will be 6-0 to the USA

If that happen I will change my nick to Iosif Stalin

England play Trindidad and Tobago, tomorrow. It might not seem very significant to you chaps, but if England lose, I’ll be on the receiving end of some serious grief for some considerable time to come. :frowning:

Hahaha, me too, so don’t feel that bad if we lose: I’ll be here to share the grief.

And of course the englishmen will have a test of his true strenght matching with this challenging and mighty caribbean team.

Come on man, when will be a match against the real England nemesis ?

Croatia ?

Mind you, we could always play Argentina and try for 3 wins in a row

There is only one English nemesis - Germany!

Don’t forget Portugal! We need to beat them for past losses in the World Cup.

Ah…yea… sure, you going to tell me now that the passion put into the field by the argentine and english players when they meet in a footbal match in the same in any other encounter.Honestly I dont think there is any other classic match like this, you can talk about england-Germany, Germany-Italy Argentina-Brazil and so but definately there is something special about the Argentina-England.Not to mention the efervescence in the fans, the other fans look like dead fish.

I think should be at list two matchs like this for year, just for the fun.

Germans don’t consider England their nemesis (despite the obviously bribed russian line referee in '66), after all, they’re pretty easy to beat in meaningful games, all we need to do is ball possession and wait for the penalties

I think the only nemesis of Germany is Italy.

I do remember this:

Nemesis is probably to much, but they’re the most annoying adversary. Somehow they manage to win more than they lose against us, even when we’re good

The last match in 2006 betwen Deutschland and Italy is one that for sure I dont going to forget for long time.

I was confident being Germany local they going to win, so confident that a bet a lamb with a friend. Unfortunately as everybody know Germany was knocked out by Italy and… I had to pay…

Definately, that was the first game of a long history. Of course the “animals” thing didnt contribute to create lovin between the two countries.

Revenge probably never tasted sweeter

Yes, an unfortunate description of ungentlemanly behaviour, even though they did resemble a pack.

Agreed, after an bad year ( both economically and politically speaking) the Beckam goal in 2002 was the final insult for Argentina. The only excuse is that they have ( we have) a madman as manager.

Pff, and the gesture of the english manager entering in the field and avoiding the interchange of shirts between Gonzales and a british player is the most human of all.

The man was a Maniac. He acted and talked in that way.

Yes, inappropriate language from both you and him.

I’m rooting for Germany in Euro 2008…

…and I’m English.

Anybody but Portugal

I have no choice but to agree!
