New members topic- Introduce yourself here:

Hi.
For your interest in heavies, in 1951, I was an electrical fitter with 617 Squadron, working on Lincolns, they were BIG, fifteen feet bigger wingspan than the Lancaster. Had many happy flights in them, the excuse being. “It wants an air test before I sign for it!”

Hi, thought I’d introduce myself. I’m located in northern california, and have been collecting japanese american items (442nd RCT, 100th battalion, MISLS) items and japanese flight related militaria (mostly imperial japanese navy flight).

I’m interested in learning about wwii history, especially in these areas. Looking forward to future interesting discussions.

Hi All
I was in the US ARMY in the mid sixties. I am very interested in WWII history and visited Normandy in 2007. After touring the beachs of Normandy, my main interest is the WWII history of that area.

Hello! I’ve been lurjing for quite some time and I finally decided to join in. I live In Indiana at the moment, but have traveled extensively. I also lived in Germany for 3 years, something that I enjoyed quite a bit!
I collect WW II photos, especially if they have anything to do with the motorcycle troops. I’m also trying to save some $$ to see if I can get a Zundapp or a BMW R75 to restore.
WW2 is a topic that I’ve researched and read about since I was about 10 years old. While I don’t consider myself an expert, I do have my opinions. I’m sure that we’ll have our discussions.

Herzlich Willkommen Krad42!
I really would like to see more

Sergej,
Thank you! That’s an awesome photo!

Hi everybody.
My name is Erik age 53 and former scout with the 113 scouting batallion which was based in Seedorf, Germany.
I’m interrested in any foto’s from the German Campaign in Hungary 1943. The reason is that my father was there as a soldier. He was enlisted in 1943, send to Hungary. Got wounded there by the shells of a so called stalin organ.

Thanks,
Erik

Hi everyone. Visited site recently, and have explored around. Thought I’d join up.

Hello,

I am new here, so thought I would just briefly introduce myself. I have visited the site many times, but just joined today.

I am a history lover especially of the WWII era. My grandfather was an Army Photographer in WWII, my father was in the Navy during Vietnam and my father-in-law was a Marine in WWII.

All of them have had a huge influence on me and created a strong love for all the military.

Thanks for reading

hello, i’m chris r. i’m concerned about us/western relations with russia. wonder if anyone else thinks we’d all have much better relations if we had supported our stallwart ww2 ally serbia, and if we had been more sypathetic with russia’s response in chechnya. any opinions?

Hi, just found the site having pumped ‘20th Anti Tank’ in to Google!?!

My Grandfathers brother died whilst serving with the above during Market Garden - this site looks like the place to get more info or at least given the right direction to follow up some research!

Hello,
My name is Herman, I was on a forced vacation, but now I am back and happy to see so many new members. This site is the Best!

Hello all decided I would join the forum and start discussing after coming across the site looking for WWII pictures. Have the admins thought of making a custom style for the BB here?

Also I noticed a post on avatars having to be WWII related is this suitable?

looks nice!

Hi Forrest…Didn’t notice any accent. You are doing well. I only speak English. I am always impressed with anyone that speaks more then one language. No apology needed.

This appears to be a very diverse website. Mixes from all countries, good to see that as it will be interesting for me to hear all the different sides on a personal level. I wasn’t around during WWII but thanks to a strong military family, I grew up with soldiers all around. Past and present, I still have members in every branch of the US military.
