Hey, I’m also new as well. ^^

Hi Pip!..cool name!:army:

Greetings Gren, nice to see you. I wish some of the Photo-poster regulars would post more in the forums, as their are some great contributions there that would translate into excellent threads here…

Thanks for the compliment… I’ll never out do Flamethrowerguy though!!!

Thanks. =) This forum seems really interesting and I enjoy anything about WWII.

Moving to appropriate thread…

Thank you very much. I look forward to visiting your interesting website in the future. I live in New Zealand and my father was a pilot with the RAF in Singapore, India and Burma. He escaped from Singapore on a boat during the fall of Singapore and raced with two companions down an Indonesian island (Sumatra I think) in a Ford V8 to escape the Japanese. He only mentioned this once to me as a teenage car enthusiast when I was mainly horrified that a brand new V8 was destroyed by the young men to avoid its use by the Japanese! I greatly regret now of course that I did not ask much more about this wartime event.

My father later flew Blenheim bombers over Burma and a rare colour photo of a Blenheim I came across may have have him in it. The photo is called “Rare colour photo from the Second World War showing Bristol Blenheim being serviced”

Therefore I hope I may be able to find out some more about this photo.

Thank you very much.

Kia Ora, Peter,
Another Kiwi here.
An uncle of mine fought at Crete, El Alamein, and Monte Cassino, and I spent decades in hopes he would speak of these events in details beyond the generalities. He’s in his late 80’s now, and for various reason it isn’t likely I’ll see him again before he passes.

Kind Regards, Uyraell.

Hello all. Just joined the forum today. I joined WW2 in Color a couple of weeks ago and posted a couple of my photos. I have plenty that I will be posting and sharing with everone in the weeks to come. Love the site and love what I’m seeing of the forum so far. I belong to a couple other forums but what I have seen so far of this one leads me to believe that most of my spare time will be here.

Welcome, HOS Bandit. I’m looking forward to your postings.

Howdy all, I’m here, I’m Mike and a Grandpa X2, I was referred to as POMPA Mike by my first Grandson and it stuck. I kinda like it. I really enjoy WWII history and I enjoy firearms, particulary the M1911A1 pistol.

Welcome, Mike. I am a grandfather x4, and called “Grumps” by the grandkids. I also love guns and studying WWII. I was in the 90th Infantry Division Reserves in the late 50’s.
