New members topic- Introduce yourself here:

Welcome. Hope you will enjoy the site.

Hi

I’m from Finland and I’ve always been interested in history in general, but WWII particularly. From what I’ve seen here when I’ve browsed through some topics, I believe that this forum will be very helpful for me in learning about WWII.

Hi Finnishbastard, welcome to the forum. I had a Finnish mate at uni and he was a mentalist on the booze, apparently there’s a Finnish drink where you mix vodka and liquorice chuck in the freezer for a few hours and hey presto you’ve got a few drunk students declaring they’re bezzers forever.

Welcome, Finnishb-There are many well versed and knowledgeable members that well help you.

I think you mean Salmiakkikoskenkorva aka. Salmari.

If anyone can say that sober they’d be doing well.

If they can say it when they’re pissed, they’re not.

Hallo everybody,
since last april i started to visit every day the picture section of this beautiful Site. Just a couple of days ago i joined the Forum too, hopin’ it’ll be possible to share with all the members, the passion and the interest that i’ve alwais felt for history, especially for the WWII. I’m a shooting instructor at the TSN - National (italian) Firing Range and since i was a kid, my father brought me up, passing to me love and passion for firearms. Now i’m the proud owner of a fair collection of weapons, especially from the Second World War. In my turn, i share this passion with my son… I hope i’ll be able to give my little contribution about the topics of the Forum and to share with everyone of you the firm belief that " the learning days will never end…" Thank in advance to everybody.

Welcome to the forums

Hi, Wehrmacht39
i just want to thank you for your kind welcome!

Hi,
I come from Bedfordshire in the UK.
I have been visiting the photo section for a while now but never ‘enlisted’ until today.
I’m really interested in WWII (of course) especially Nazi Germany. There’s quite a bit of WWII history near me, mainly US airfields and such. I’m also into other history such as the Spanish-American War, the Boer War and other colonial wars. Anything that’s a bit ‘off the beaten track’ is usually interesting.
Hope to engage in some interesting chats and learn a lot from all of you!
Kind regards,
Smoking Frog

Welcome to the forums

Hi guys,
Can someone please point me in the direction of avatars? Does the website have a selection that I can choose from?
Where can I find a small pic?
Thanx

Hi Smoking Frog,

Got one!
Thanx Skorzeny57

Looking at your Avatar Smoking Frog, you’re not a benny are you?

Hi Iron Yeoman,
since English isn’t my first language, may ask you what do you mean when you say “benny”? I’ve been looking on the English dictionary, but with no result… Believe when i say that isn’t an ironic question… For me is very important to understand people that share with me the passion for history. Thank for your time. Have a nice evening.

Sometimes I have to remember that not everyone on here is British! A ‘benny’ is someone from the Falkland Islands.

Thank Iron Yeoman,
good to know it… I really appreciate your availability. This is the best way to improve a language. If you need to know something in Italian, don’t hesitate… Best regards.

Hi Iron Yeoman,
No I’m not a “Benny” - but by coincidence by name is Ben!
The avatar is a reference to a master-plan of mine to get rich and live happily ever after…by sheep farming in the Falkland Islands!!

No worries, happy to help. Any Italian chat up lines for the chicas are always well received.
